Appointed as consultants to lead the design, Ribbon were privileged to work alongside an accomplished professional team to transform what was a vanilla Cat A scheme into this new home for Twenty Essex.
With a growing practice and the rare opportunity to acquire the building adjacent to their main office (and namesake), Twenty Essex initially approached us to explore the feasibility of consolidating several of their other sites into this neighbouring space. After proving the building could accommodate both the client-facing and back-of-house functions required, we were then trusted to coordinate the design scheme and help deliver what was a very ambitious fit out, given the aging, unforgiving 70’s shell that sits beneath the now seamless interior.
As well as navigating the technical challenges that presented on site over the year-long project – planning consents, ductwork routes, height restrictions, acoustic transfer etc to name a few - Ribbon cemented our relationship with the client and wider team with an ongoing commitment to providing proactive, creative, and considered advice throughout.
This bold, opulent space delivers perfectly on the brief Twenty Essex set to create a non-office, 'boutique hotel' aesthetic.
